This book had the right idea but I didn’t feel chemistry between the main characters. It felt very Insta-love. I’m also sick of reading women main characters who are shy and awkward. I felt like this book was trying to include everyone, which was lovely but sometimes can come across a bit performative.

Not a bad read though and I did enjoy it, purely for the Lizzie McGuire vibes.

It was a good book, very cute. I honestly have no complaints. I might need to read it again to kind of figure out if there are any flaws. But currently I don’t really have any. It was enjoyable and I enjoyed the characters. I really liked it. There was very minimal back-and-forth about their true feelings for each other.

Another blah ARC for me this month. I absolutely did not buy this storyline that a movie star look alike could take a starlet’s place and no one - not her agent, friends, reporters, photographers, etc. would know the difference.

There were aspects of the characters stories that I loved, but altogether not a perfect recipe.

Thank you to the author, publisher and @NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Read This If Enjoy:
•Fake dating trope (with a twist)
•Celebrity romances
•Romance with childhood crush

Thoughts:
I thought this was quick read that was very cute. I love the fake dating trope, and I thought this was fun twist on that. I really enjoyed the main characters Freya & Taft as individuals. I did appreciate the character growth of them both. I did like this book, but there were some things that fell flat for me.

What I didn’t like:
I wasn’t a fan of the ending, it felt rushed to me and way too easy of a resolution. It also felt like some important storylines just didn’t go anywhere. I did enjoy the chemistry between the main characters, but it felt a bit too instant love for me and not enough depth besides being attracted to each other. I would have liked to see more depth to their relationship.
