It took me a very long time before I actually got into this book and started liking it. I didn't want to dnf it when I was already so far in the series and the other books I liked after a bit. It would have been nice if I was enjoying the book after 200 or so pages, though. I thought I was falling into a slump. A lot of the book felt like just filler. Helene's probably the only pov I was entertained by the most and what was kept me reading. With Elias, not much happened until the end and I really want to see where the story goes now. It was also interesting to see how he changed. I thought Laia was just a tiny bit annoying sometimes, because I thought she did make some stupid decisions. I just wasn't that bothered about her character till the end. Finally, the 100 pages, I was quite gripped to the pages, and it was great. However, it wasn't good enough for me to make up for the rest of the book, so it gets a lower rating.

I thought this was going to keep being my favorite recent YA series, but this book was kind of disappointing. It felt like nothing really happened even though it was chock full of adventures and battles. It felt like a filler book to me, so I'm highly anticipating the final (maybe?) book in the series.

ONE THOUSAND STARS, it does not get better than this. Thank you Sabaa, thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm ready for book 4 now!
