Not for me; I found the twists predictable & didn’t like any of the characters

Naomi Bailey reluctantly took a natural sleep remedy for sleep after dealing with weeks of stress and sleeplessness. The very next morning, her five-years-old Cassie turns up missing. She is wracked with guilt. She recently split from her husband Charlie, despite the fact that they had a very strong marriage. This was due to a sensitive and heartbreaking incident that Naomi just cannot get past. Charlie is as devastated by Cassie's disappearance at Naomi and insists on coming home while the police search for her. I felt so much for them, for their plight. I not only hoped for Cassie to be found safe, but also for their marriage to find ground again.

Rachel Hart is the DCI on the case. This case is close to her heart, because when she was a child both she and her sister were abducted. So, quite naturally, Rachel puts her all into this case. Rachel wisely considers several people as suspects with regards to Cassie. It doesn't take Rachel long to see that things with Naomi and Charlie are quite tentative.

What a fast-paced book that kept me on my toes! I could not put this book down. I was surprised at some of the twists this book took. Furthermore, although discovering who took Charlie became easy to see, the motivation behind it wasn't. That made the book that much more engaging.

Little Girl Missing is the first book I have read by J.G. Roberts and is the first book in the DCI Rachel Hart series. Rachel Hart is a no-nonsense detective who leaves no stone unturned. Her past experience is touched on in this book, and we meet her sister. I look forward to continuing with this series.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Great story line, actually keeps you guessing 3 quarters through.

Who's behind the disappearance of Cassie? Did she run away, was it relatives? No one knows and the search begins.

This book was good but really got to me. I can't imagine how the mum felt when she woke up and her little 5 year old daughter is missing. What was harder for me to understand was who took Cassie and why. This book is a real page turner. I got it straight away on who took Cassie but didn't pick who the mastermind behind it was. This book just goes to show us all that when it comes to our children we can't trust anybody not even our friends and especially not our best friend.

I am glad Cassie was returned to both of her parents alive and well.

Free book on stuff your kindle day. For free, it was fine. For money, I probably would’ve been annoyed.

More later but I saw Kate being the one to orchestrate it a mile away. It didn’t occur to me that she was in love with Naomi but figured she was resentful of Naomi’s and Charlie’s life. But beyond that, the reasoning didn’t matter much. It was a pretty predictable read. Not poorly written per se but all of the characters were unlikeable, including the DI who is the lead in subsequent novels. Don’t think I’d pay for any more books by this author.

I will be completely honest. I liked the overall story for this book, but there were definitely some pieces that seemed disorganized. Having so many different points of view made things confusing. Since this is a “Rachel Hart” book, I was hoping we’d learn more about Rachel and get things more from her perspective. I did enjoy the plot though and plan to read the rest of the series.

It was decent, unfortunately it was predictable. It took me longer than normal to read.
