Z and Colton are the perfect cowboy romance fated mates. From rival families, with land bordering each other, these two were forced into an arranged marriage for the benefit of both their families. What their families didn't know is that their relationship did not begin with this contract. This story had secrets, lies, mystery, and intrigue. I loved the relationship Z had with Colt's brother and her own triplet brothers. the side characters, especially T and Parker were great sounding boards for Z. I loved how dedicated and committed Colt was to Z, even when he thought she didn't want him. This book was a fantastic summer read.

I listened to the audio narrated by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais. They were both perfect for the roles of Z and Colt! One of the supporting characters, is British which can be a difficult accent, but it was minimal in the book as a whole. There were more than a few times when Connor had me blushing or fanning myself.

This is my first G.A. Mazurka book, but will not be my last! I can't wait for book 2.

I received an ALC of this book and voluntarily give my honest review.

G.A. Mazurke’s first small town romance feels like coming home. The writing, the plot, the characters, the banter and the love between Zee and Colt is perfection. We glimpsed Colton and the responsibilities on his shoulders in Waiting Game. I instantly wanted to learn more about the rancher and Pigeon Creek. I loved that we started with Zee’s perspective and saw her life in NYC. Her love for her family and the flame she still had for Colt led her back to Canada, hundreds of miles from the life she ran from. We learn why Zee didn’t put up too much of a fight when the chance to save her family meant she had to marry her first love. Seeing Zee and Colts childhood relationship and the trauma they endured, made their present connection so strong. They knew each other for so long and the love that grew from a fake marriage definitely turned the marriage into a real one. The spice was perfection. Zee and Colt had chemistry flowing off the pages before they admitted their real feelings and once they did all bets were off. I loved the The world building, the detail that went into the town, and the array of side characters had me making a list of every future story I want; trust me I want more in Pigeon Creek. If I could go to Canada and find my own rancher like Colt, you’d find me on a plane faster than you could say Saskatchewan.

The devastation was so well covered

The story of Zee and Colt is one of young, unrequited love, devastation, and awakening.

This was a slow burn, friends to enemies to lovers story that touched on a number of sensitive topics.

The next book in the series was set up towards the end of this story.

I read on Kindle and read along on Audible with fair audio.

“I’m a lot stronger than you think.” “Oh, Zee, I know that.” His gaze is soft as it settles on me. “Doesn’t mean that I can’t support you. Isn’t that what partners are supposed to do?”

So, I didn't dislike the book and the writing style was good but the story was so stretched. I usually enjoy slow burn romances but this one was super slow. Colt & Zee had chemistry but it fizzled out after they got married tbh. I could only feel the connection between them after some 70% or so. They literally avoided each other and it just got so boring because no one was making the first move. Also, all the characters names starting with C got so confusing that it was a headache for me to figure out who was who. I had some huge expectations from this book considering it was basically a second chance romance and I expected Colt to grovel but I was disappointed. Zee was also very confused. One second she said that she's a stranger to Colt and immediately in the next chapter said that they're not exactly strangers. I just couldn't figure out her pov clearly. All the mystery regarding the fire at the ranch was also very predictable and the ending was so watered down. I think the plot had huge potential but the execution was weak. I would've loved the book if the romance was more well developed.

There is not a genre that Gem cannot write. I first got hooked on her writing with the 5 Points' Mob and Satan Sinners MC series. Then she goes and writes hockey with the New York Stars and of course, I devoured them as well. Now, she tackles small town romance and completely blew me away. I have yet to read a book from her that is not a 5 star read. The way she weaves these stories, and universes is like no other.

Things Left Unsaid was absolutely mesmerizing from beginning to end. I don't read many books that I find unputdownable but this was definitely one of them. Zee and Colt had a complex relationship, with a past no one knew about, so when they were forced together in marriage, neither thought it would be more than a business arrangement. Oh how wrong they were!

The mystery, suspense and secrets surrounding these two families and their shared past had me anxiously awaiting the outcome. The way Colt and Zee found each other again through all the chaos and ups and downs was so remarkably written. The secondary characters added so much to the story without taking away from the MMC and FMC and the overall plot and made me look forward to what's to come even more.
