3-4. Better than most romantic books of this nature, tries to take a deeper look at the struggles and commitment of marriage. Maum's writing style is fun and laced with humor.
Who is having fun? The title doesn't even make sense. When the narrator was having his affair, he wasn't taunting his wife about it. And when she admitted to having gone out on two dates during their separation, that was for, like, a page.
The title is misleadingly snarky and clever, and the book isn't.
The book did make a good prop for my FB picture catching rays at a nice beachside resort. That's why it is getting 2 stars and not 1. Because it was funny in a picture.

I'm not sure what to think about this book. The premise - man cheats on wife, wife finds out, man regrets affair and tries to win back wife - has been done to death, and much of this book is wholly depressing. There were also so, so many little errors - it's "nervous tic," not "tick," Bret Easton Ellis has only one T, etc - which distract from the story for me. But the writing is good and I didn't hate the story, even if the ending is predictable. 2.5. I guess.
I won this book for free, I think through the Simon and Schuster webpage. I'm not sure.
Honestly I didn't like it at all. The main character was too whiny and wishy washy about what he wants. I couldn't even finish the book. Horrible!

In my opinion, too pretentious...
I had a hard time finishing it, because I wasn't really interested.

It's hard to like a book when you can't stand the main character.
An excellent debut novel for Courtney Maum. The characters at times felt unrealistic - but at no point did the story itself ever feel anything less than profoundly real.
'I am having so much fun here without you' is, at its core a story about the hard work of love. It is witty and tragic in turns - but through it all Maum reminds readers that love does not sustain itself - and the protagonists journey to realize that could be true of any one of us.

I just did not like this book, at all. I was probably bound to dislike it since the reason I picked it up was a review that said it was [b:Where'd You Go, Bernadette|13526165|Where'd You Go, Bernadette|Maria Semple|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1338822317s/13526165.jpg|17626728] meets [b:Beautiful Ruins|11447921|Beautiful Ruins|Jess Walter|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1338161553s/11447921.jpg|16381755], two of my favorite books of last year. I thought this book was nothing like either. I hated the main character and found the story difficult to get in to. I liked this author's writing style, though, so I may give another of her books a shot.
Smart. Political. Well written. I didn't love this story, but I liked it.
