I loved all of the elemental magic, the horoscopes and tarot, and of course that there are vampires, werewolves and dragons walking the halls of the school even if they are hot-as-heck assholes.
Darcy and Tory’s quips have me laughing out loud, their wit is quick and talon sharp and despite not knowing the true extent of their powers are still absolutely badass.
I really liked the mystery aspect of the story, it kept me on my toes trying to uncover it and continually questioning certain characters true intent and whether they could be trusted or not.
There are tropes in this book (bully romance) that are definitely not for everyone. It does not contain sexual assault or rape, however it does contains bullying and hazing which in my opinion serve a purpose to the plot.

The book focuses heavily on non-consensual acts that, while not explicitly sexual, still have sexual connotations. These things are considered not only acceptable within the context of the story, but also “exciting” to the POV charactersbkwrm80's review against another edition

“We were alone against the Heirs. And I was beginning to think we were destined to fall at their mercy.”
Yes, I am doing a complete reread of this series now that the last book is out. Am I a masochist? maybe.
Anyway…this series is very easy to read. It’s not very complicated in regards to plot of characters at present. I will note that in the beginning going from mortal worlds to solaria is very fast and I do think it could have been done better. I’m not the biggest fan of characters just coming straight into power and being able to use it straight away, but that is personal preference I guess.
It is very big bullying in this so if that’s not your thing steer clear. In saying that, I enjoy the enemy aspect and the tension between the twins and other characters.
I will say that it is mostly for the vibe type of read. You’ll either love it or you’ll hate I’ve found when talking with others.
But in saying that, i found this one to be okay. I know I like the other books so of course I will continue reading.
Check TWs and CWs
Happy reading 🤍

Did I eat it up anyways? Absolutely.
This gave me Winx vibes, I loved Winx as a kid (still do). There were a few too many cringe moments but I still enjoyed it. I will continue the series.

This book gave me vibes of both Harry Potter and Winx, but make it a CW teen drama (even though, obviously, this book is not for teens) and I really enjoyed it. Was this cringe? I mean the word faebook showed up a lot, so obviously it was cringy at times. But it was also so much fun and I was entertained throughout the whole book.
I really loved the twins, and I was expecting to love one twin and find the other annoying and that it would be a drag reading their chapters, but honestly I really loved both of them (even if I like Darcy a little bit more) and loved the dual POV,
I also loved Orion. He was an awful teacher but I don't care I love him
With the Heirs I hated them at first, but then, like the twins, I started to let my guard down and thought that they weren't so bad. Especially Seth
Overall I'm really invested and can't wait to continue with this series, especially because I heard that the writing and books gets better as it goes.

I love that the twins are such separate characters and that we have to be reminded that their twins. They could have been written as basically two of the same character so I really appreciate that they aren't.
I enjoy the intrigue, the mysteries, and the twists. The plot is quickly placed and that the world building doesn't detract from it but adds to it.
The Heirs. I love to hate them. I feel like all the sexual tension and touching slightly detracts from the enemies to lovers trope that's being built here. But not horribly, and it in no way detracts from my enjoyment of the story. I feel like we could know them better but I'm sure that will come as the series continues.
I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next. The twins just keep getting more and more sh!t piled on and the odds keep getting stacked even higher against them.
