A lot more dense with information than I expected, but spread out over the pages and spaced with large pictures. Similar to but not quite as overwhelming as a textbook. It didn't feel totally like a layman's book; you have to know a bit about weather/weather systems to really understand everything that's said. And yet at other parts, the captions especially were repetitive, re-explaining things that had already been talked about at least once if not more.

The book goes into detail about all the different cloud structures, environmental climates, extreme weather, how to read weather systems... pretty much everything you could think of. It's too bad there isn't a newer edition; I think this one is from 2004 or 2008? I'm sure lots of weather tech and even the climate itself has changed.

Excellent photographs and other visual material. The text seemed awfully superficial in places, even for a visual guide.
