There was not enough alcohol in my house to make this an even semi-enjoyable read. You know when Lifetime tries to copy Hallmark movie tropes and fails? That’s this book for me.

This is the true essence of Christmas in a book! Full of holiday decorations, cookies, food, kindness, and family. It is a book that warms your heart and makes you want to be part of Julie's family celebration. When Julie's quiet Christmas with her new boyfriend is hijacked by her grown kids and their desire to have a family Christmas at their cabin Julie embraces it. She ends up with a houseful of family and extended family including her daughter-in-laws estranged mother and her boyfriends ex wife and she finds a way to make it work.  It is easy until an accident leaves her having to cede control and face her own fears. The characters have flaws and are messy but they love each other and are willing to listen, to learn, and to find the courage to face scary things. I loved this and want more of Julie and her family! I highly recommend this for readers that like sweet holiday stories full of family and love.
