Какой же Соити смешной, особенно здорово сочетание его темных наклонностей и совершенно обычной семьи и окружающих. Наверное, самый запоминающийся персонаж у Ито.
When I read Junji Ito's manga I'm looking to get freaked out, however while reading Soichi I felt myself laughing more than I was scared, but I didn't hate it? In the first couple of chapters Soichi is creepy and mysterious as there is never any direct explanation given for why he has such strange powers. As you read more into the manga Soichi stops coming across as creepy and begins to come across more as just a cringy and goofy kid who spooks everyone with his presence and demeanor. I like that the separate chapters of the manga read almost like individual comic strips where every chapter involves Soichi, but each chapter covers separate situations that Soichi seems to get himself in. I'd consider this a 7/10

I first came to enjoy the work of Ito when reading Uzumaki many years ago. Students in my library continue to be drawn to his work and this is a new storyline/character to add to the repertoire. Soichi is so creepy and it was pretty dark, maybe even more than some of his other works that were sometimes more supernatural creepy than this one, which was more violent/sadistic creepy. All the same, there were plenty of supernatural themes that helped ground the work.

This graphic novel follow misadventures of Soichi, the troublesome boy and it was good fun reading all of nasty things he been up to lol
3.5 stars
Like all of
his works, this was creepy - but also funny! Soichi is insanely annoying, but not in a charming way so I just wanted someone to punch him the entire time I was reading.
