I like to throw in these Rom Coms between Fantasy books as a pallet cleanser and I usually rate them a 3⭐. That's because, while I often enjoy them, and think they are sweet, there's nothing in particular that stands out about them over all the others. I would say this one aligns with that notion.

There were several tropes in this book - enemies to lovers, my favorite being one. But there was no slow burn here, they were into each other immediately. The miscommunication and third act break up trope, which are some of my least favorite ones, was significant and honestly, as they typically are, frustrating. The topic of addition was handled well though, I thought.

My biggest issue is I struggled to like the FMC. She was over the top at times. She consistently called the MMC and "asshole" even when they liked each other and I just did't care for that. 

Overall, it's a fine Rom Com read but it's not one I would prioritize over others.
