Oh I loved it. I cried so much at the end.
When he leaves a voicemail at her work that says he loves her and she hears about it from Blake? When she goes back to his office and it’s such a full circle moment from the beginning and she yells at him and he booms that he loves her so fucking much? And then she storms off and he still calls her a car so she isnt soaked even more by the storm??
Oh, the tears I shed. 😭
I also want to call out how much I appreciated and loved the subplot around Josh and his addiction. I love that he’s still just a person. But oh my, how I cried for him. I’m so proud of this fake person from this book. 😭

  • Adorable and romantic MMC. Angry and relatable FMC. Did not get annoyed or the ick from either of them even when they did stupid things
  • Great representation of addiction and the effects of it on family and friend groups
  • "Fully understand that the stereotypes exist to keep the people who have profited off these addictions safe. Not us"
  • Loved the grief that comes with shifts and changes in one's friend group. Growing up and holding on.
  • MMC gave off Clark Kent vibes and I loved it

This book delivered those classic 2000’s RomCom vibes for me! The FMC annoyed me throughout the book but I thought she had some pretty valid reasons for her behavior regarding her distrust of love/marriage. The MMC was such a sweetheart and was the exact person Bea needed in her life. Such a sweet story that would be a perfect movie!

I really enjoyed the side characters and their core friendship! There is a side character struggling with addiction, so keep that in mind before picking this up.

I  don’t know why but the narrator’s voice turned extra “breathy” in the epilogue and I was laughing yet also slightly uncomfy 😂
