It’s a good story bogged down by excessive non-relevant explanations. The book is 100 pages too long, which could easily have been reduced by reducing the constant tangents and superfluous POVs.

Also, the fact that the book is told from the point of view of a woman protagonist but was written by a man is exceptionally problematic considering the content. The ways Pavone would elaborate on how difficult it is to be a woman really got under my skin.

This was a page-turner and held my attention to the end, but a few weeks after finishing it, I can say it was not particularly memorable.

Had to trudge through this one a bit. This book was longer than it needed to be and switched between the past and present without warning, making it difficult to keep track of the timeline.

I didn't finish the book, got through about 60% and didn't want to read the rest. The pacing was slow, the author didn't know how to write from the female perspective, but the main reason for stopping was the s.a. scenes that just kept coming up seeming to only be included to give her a traumatic back story.
