This is probably my third favorite of the secret projects, saying quite a bit about precisely how good the other two were! This is one unique book. I enjoyed this exponentially more than I thought I would, being a (somewhat) romance novel. I have never tried romance and don't see any point where I will get into it as a genre. The only gripe I have about it is that we didn't get to see more of the rest of the Cosmere in there. Other than that, this is a masterpiece. We see a new planet in the Cosmere and a new magic system. The characters, including the two main ones, are likable for the most part, and I want to see more of them!

Two people trade lives as they sleep leading to an understanding of their own world as well as each other's worlds.

I found the narrator's bits highly distracting. In many ways, it threw me out of the story and I couldn't justify the interactions.

This book was recommended to me by at least two different people, and I can see why! The only Brandon Sanderson I've read before this is the Skyward series and Mistborn, but you don't have to have read other Sanderson to jump into this book. I think there are some connections to other books, but the story works if you don't pick up on those.

I listened to this, so I'm definitely going to have to pick up a physical copy just to look at the art. From the world building to the characterization to the narration, I don't think there was anything about this I didn't love. The little comments throughout from the narrators were great. The audiobook narrators also do an excellent job bringing the story to life!

Listening to Sanderson explain why this might be his favorite book he's written and the reasoning behind it also just adds to the book, in my opinion. If you like manga, this is very heavily manga inspired, and though I'm still just getting into the manga scene, even I could see that influence on the story. And it's so enjoyable!

I have Tress of the Emerald Sea also on hold, so this has made me excited to listen to that!

Lord this took me altogether too long to read. A really enjoyable story in a way different genre for Sanderson. Loved the narrative voice.

Brandon Sanderson sucks at writing women and the relationship between the two main characters was stupid to me. Too bad because the world was cool.

More sexually suggestive than any of Sanderson's other work. It's never explicate, but often suggestive. The art is part of that. I wonder how much of that is because he originally wrote this just for his wife?
