This book really dragged for me. It wasn't very interesting, I wasn't fond of the characters and it just took a long time to get through. I wasn't expecting much from this book and I was right to feel that way. It was just meh.

It was okay, the writing style wasn't too great and the characters weren't that likeable. I didn't see the twist ending coming, but probably because it was so preposterous that I hadn't even considered anything like it.

Despite finishing the middle portion of this book really slow going, it actually ended up being really good. And although I anticipated what Robin's guilt was about, I totally didn't see the twist coming!

The start was a little slow and uninteresting, but got better as the story progressed.

I was excited to read The Innocent Sleep as one of my favourite, mystery fictional writers Tana French who also sets her books in Dublin and the surrounding areas gave it a huge endorsement. I was waiting for the complicated twist at the end of the novel to come as I had guessed all the smaller ones but alas I had just guessed right and there were no more plot turns. I sort of knew that reviewers only have to scan a book to write a complimentary review and get a compensating kick back but this one seemed a lie in the first degree. I was left to finish the last few cloying chapters in the hope I had missed something but alas no, just my nails as I dragged them down the chalkboard in frustration.
