Picked this up from work and expected it to be really gripping from the blurb but didn't catch me the way I wanted to. Didn't actually finish reading it but got half way through and gave up. :/

HATED THIS!!!! i hoped the character was annoying on purpose for the author to prove a point about how weird the true crime community is but that was giving the author too much credit. SOOOO BAD

This book lost me in the first chapter.

3.5*

- True crime podcast lovers will enjoy lots of true crime nuggets
- Strange vibes and creepy characters, who can you trust?

"If I Disappear" was an intriguing, twisty thriller. The pace was slow, and the narrator talking directly to Rachel was an interesting choice. I thought it was good for the story, but it made the story sound repetitive. I would read more from this author.

{Thank you to Berkley for my gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.}

After reading the book synopsis for If I Disappear, I couldn't wait to dive in. I am a fan of true crime podcasts and I also enjoy a good suspense novel, so this was right up my reading alley. When a true-crime podcaster goes missing, one of her biggest listener fans, Sera, is on the case. Brazier drew me in and the details made me also feel like I was along the ride for this journey.

I did struggle a bit with the writing style and sometimes found it made me a bit confused. I think this would have been a more solid read for me if the characters were more layered and we had a bit more background information. I don't mind an "unlikeable character" but for me as a reader, it is harder to relate with them when they feel a bit too one dimensional. All in all, this was a unique read with many twists and turns and I would recommend it to readers who enjoy a suspenseful read but don't need ALL the details along the way. 3.5 stars.

Not sure how I feel about this one...it definitely didn't pull me, took me a month to get back to it after I started it. The second half of the book pulled me in more, I read almost two hundred pages of it just today, but it just wasn't great overall. I hate that there's no genuine conclusion, no true understanding of what happened.

DID NOT FINISH: 50%

I just couldn't get into the plot of this book.

I liked the plot on paper, but I was so lost, that I got halfway through the book and was feeling like I really had to trudge through it to continue.

This just wasn't my cup of tea and I like most teas.
