I loved this story! Though it was about Agatha Christie, referenced her works, and was a fictional depiction of the mysterious 10 days she was missing, it felt like something she may have written.
The attention to details about each murder was so much like Christie’s mysteries! Never underestimate a clear divergent or obvious suspect.
I would love to read this over and over again!

I started out not really enjoying this book. However, as the stories of the characters started weaving together it all became quite satisfying.

I have been wanting to read this since it was published, and to be honest I was a little dissapointed. The premise was fantastic! A fictional depiction of Agatha Christie's dissaperance from the perspective of her husband's mistress, however it fell short for me. I thought the pacing was off and saw the first twist coming pretty early (slightly spoiled by the reviews at the front of the novel to be honest). The narration was off puting as it spoiled the ending from quite early in the novel.
That being said the novel was enjoyable, it touched on many subjects and I felt the parts that commented on the 'place' of women in the 1920s was insightful and I'm glad the author commented on this as it usually is assumed that women were very passive in this era, which is not the case. The second twist was REALLY good, I didn't see it coming and enjoyed the reveal very much.
Overall it was enjoyable but probably won't pick up another from the author in the future, dependent on an interesting premise!

not gonna lie, this whole book was very "cool motive, still murder".
I don't really care about the nun and priest, they can rot.

nan... is maximally unlikable despite her very tragic past. I honestly would have respected the author more if she'd leaned into the assholeness of nans actions and relationship.

also, I agree with other reviewers that the narration is Bad. lots of "i imagine" interspersed with random 3rd person interludes and odd side characters that make the plot feel even MORE contrived than it already is. I really really wish the author had just picked one. Honestly, if Nan wasn't the narrator, this book would probably improve by at least 1 star.

I will not be reading another book by this author any time soon.

I have no words. This story was everything and even more than I expected when I picked it up. It was so much more than just a mystery novel and I'd definitely check out trigger warnings beforehand - I did not expect that dark of a backstory really. I really enjoyed the story built around the vanishing of Agatha Christie, which really happened, becoming something that could've been, but we never will know for sure. Will definitely look more into that vanishing now I'm deeply invested!
