Fun mix of realistic historical fiction with a bit of speculation, romance, and mystery thrown into the mix.  It was an odd approach to have your narrator and protagonist be the mistress of Agatha Christie's husband, narrating the real time that Agatha went missing, and yet de Gramont pulls it off.

I’ve always been more interested in Agatha Christie’s real life than her amazing stories. I love the mystery that no one can figure out, and this novel fills in all the gaps in such a mysterious and satisfying way. There is so much love in this book, all wrapped up in mystery and deception. I really enjoyed it, and would like to hope the real life mystery was a lot like this.

What a twisted tale of love! What does a woman do when her husband leaves her for his mistress? She disappears and uncovers a horrible past act that has impacted her future.

The mystery of the disappearance of Agatha Christie as told by the mistress of her husband. A really good set up for a mystery book.
I really liked this book after getting over the fact that a real life event was fictionalized for this story ( luckily some names were changed)
The atmosphere, characters and even the mystery solved are clearly very Christie-esque, which made the book better.

I also appreciated  what we learned about the life of Archie Christies mistress, which was very tragic but interesting to read about.
The one thing I didn't like about this book was the insta-love aspect that occurred between two characters, but even that was very fitting to some mystery books that Christie wrote

People love or hate this book, but I’m in the middle. I don’t care that it is not historically accurate, and I liked how most of the mysteries got resolved in the end. But the alternative timeline stories seemed so wildly unrelated for so long and changed the mood of the book so drastically that I couldn’t even tell that I was reading the same book about Agatha Christie’s disappearance.

Not my favorite book, I began to like it more towards the end. The last quarter was quite entertaining.

The audiobook-version had a bit too much talking with different voices. That is probably a matter of taste.
