Woah. Not as good as Fourth Wing but still woah. I did not appreciate the near-same ending where Ridoc and Sawyer nearly died the same way Liam did. At least Xaden and Violet actually talked to each other like adults and a had some decent heart-to-hearts instead of being mad at each other and having sex 24/7. That was a pleasant change.

I enjoyed the intense story and the focus on the Iron Squad this book, but the pacing felt off. Also, I didn’t find the introduction of a certain griffon rider necessary, but I’m sure someone else may appreciate what she means to Violet’s personal journey.
