DNF because I was still in the middle of reading it after seven months. Long gaps between reading. But I did enjoy what I read of it and will give it another go.

But honestly the bergman brothers series is much better. If your new to reading Liese's books, start with Only when it's us.

chloe literally NEVER. MISSES. EVER. this is my current obsession because jamie&bea are sooooo hot - like i want them both holy fvck. not only did we get amazing disability rep, a PANSEXUAL QUEEN, a dirty talking mmc who i would quite literally die for, but also one of the best fake dating plots ever because they were both in it for revenge!!!! that is the energy i need forever now. i'm so mad i put this off as long as i did. i was afraid somehow it just wouldn't live up to the bergmans which is my favorite contemporary romance series of ALL TIME, but this is a vvvery close second. i cannot wait for the next installments, as i just know i'm going to be in love with the characters, the plot, and the amazing writing.

I wanted to read this book because I’ve seen so many things about Chloe Liese on the Book Community. I saw this book in my local bookshop and was instantly drawn to the cover due to Bea’s tattoos. So, I bought it and I adore this book.

This book has two points of view. The first is Bea Wilmot and she has a creative block due to her toxic ex-boyfriend. She is struggling to paint anything and doesn’t know how to fix it and she definitely doesn’t want a relationship any time soon. The second point of view is Jamie Westenberg. He is the family disappointment; he didn’t become a surgeon and his girlfriend left him for his father’s practice. He is content on his own and definitely doesn’t want a relationship anytime soon. Jamie and Bea have nothing in common except a meet-disaster and the mutual understanding that they couldn’t be more wrong for each other. But when Bea’s twin sister Jules and Jamie’s roommate Jean Claude, who are together, they decide to play Cupid and try and set Bea and Jamie up together. Turns out they have something else in common: an undeniable need for revenge. Soon their plan is in place: Fake date obnoxiously and convince the meddlers they’re made in love. Then, break up spectacularly and dash their hopes, putting an end to the matchmaking madness once and for all. To convince everyone that they’ve fallen for each other, Jamie and Bea will have to nail the performance of their lives, but as their final act nears and playing lovers becomes easier than not, they begin to wonder, what if Cupid’s arrow wasn’t so off the mark?

I LOVE THIS FREAKING BOOK, I love Bea, I love Jamie. I love the dynamic and I love the storyline. I love that the Jamie was the freaky one and yet Bea is more outspoken and yet she is shyer, when it comes to the bedroom. I just love the layers in these characters, considering this is the first Chloe Liese book I've ever read, I loved it and I want to read more of her work. Jamie is a fine ass and respectful man and I want one of him please. He was so charming and didn’t have the bad boy aspect but damn that man has a WAY with words. It had all tropes I love – enemies to lovers, don’t touch and die, talking about mental health and have LGBT representation. I found it so important, and it felt so relatable.

I want more of these characters. I want to know more about the beef between Kate and Christopher and I want Jules to get her HEA because she deserves it so much.
