I love reading books about where I live (Florida). Oddly, I’d never heard of a burrowing owl, either. This book is great for older elementary school readers... and adults who are still children at heart. Some of the themes of the book are inclusion/bullying, conservation, and family.

Good mystery for middle schoolers.

It’s just plane sweet and a great peak into the early 2000s, learning to read, and a world before smart everything. A book any gender could read.

cute.

Tonia gave this book to Zac for Christmas 2022 and Jordan and I read it to him out loud at bedtime. But this system means that I missed half the book, so I decided to read it myself. It’s fun mystery about burrowing owl, bullies, and runaways in Florida.
