Speaker for the Dead really spoke to me in a way that Ender’s Game never did. I don’t think it would work nearly as well without Ender’s Game as a prequel, but I found this touching and human. The flaws of the characters and of the institutions they build drive the story forward through a decades-long plot.

Let me start by saying this was a very strong book and normally I would have given such a well-written novel 4 or 5 stars. But I can't do that. I struggled reading this book, and it took me 3 times as long as it should have to read. I honestly don't know why this is the case. But it is definitely worth reading. I'm looking forward to continuing the series to see how Ender's story progresses.
