I have to say I enjoyed this one much more than -Enders Game-, there didn't seem to be as much filler. It is strange though because, Card comes up with these really cool sci-fi ideas but then writes his characters so well and fills the situation with such human emotion that the cool ideas get kind of overshadowed. I really like both aspects but for some reason they don't add up and blow me away. So in the end this is the kind of book that I would enjoy on audio but wouldn't really want read in book form (over a period of 4 or 5 weeks - at my speed).
The next book is available on audio so I'll probably listen to it sooner or later but I'm not super excited about it.

While not as good as [book: Ender's Game], Speaker for the Dead was still good. I was sort of disappointed by the end, since it clearly just sets up the next book in the series, without really progressing the core storyline of the series all that much.

So much better than EG! Really enjoyed this one. I speak Portuguese, so it made the book feel more familiar.
One thing that irked me of the audiobook was how the readers didn’t properly pronounce some of the Portuguese words. It’s a small thing, but it still irritated me.

Reading Speaker some years after Enders Game, this is a wonderful sequel though entirely different to the first book. It is however no less engaging and Ender, now an adult is still a formidable character whose understanding of compassion is almost boundless. He wins people over effortlessly in a way I would love to be able to emulate. Great book and quickly read. I will be reading more Ender books I think.
More philosophical than Enders Game, a great look into human nature.
