Love morbid so I decided to give this a try. I listened to it as an audiobook and I am glad i did. I’ve seen multiple reviews about how poorly written it was so I decided to use an audiobook instead. The story is good. The ideas are there. I can see how it was poorly edited and executed. However, i love Alaina and for a debut novel she did great. I will more than likely listen to the second book.

I didn't dislike this book, but I wanted to feel more connected to the characters. I wanted to know the motivations of the killer. Like his backstory. How did he become the way he was. The end was a bit disappointing, but I can look past that part. Meh.

3.5 stars.

3.5 This is a good dark (and sometimes gory) thriller, but I just had a hard time with the female narrator. I think I would have found it better in my own voice.

That said there’s a nice twist in the middle of the book that made it compelling just as I was thinking the book didn’t have much life left. I liked that it didn’t wait to the end to pile on all the revelations. It was smart. I will likely pick up the next one to see how the rest of the story goes.
