LOVED the author and loved the book. It was so catching and the couldn’t out the book down. Made me get back into reading.

I wasn't a huge fan. I felt like while her writing wasn't subpar, it was lazy. She should have wrapped this up without needing a 2nd book. On top of that, I just had a really hard time getting into it. I won't wait for the next one.

For a short read, I thought this was pretty good. I really liked that the chapters were shared between The Butcher and Wren - I liked seeing both of them as the hunter and the hunted. I liked the cliffhanger & I want to see what happens in the next book.
However, due to the shortness of the book, it didn’t feel that there was much depth to the characters and the plot. The page count has about 20 pages of padding which includes book club questions, and I feel that this page space could have been used on the story instead.
