I could see why it's so well enjoyed but I ruined my reading experience by reading this going to and from counselling appointments. Just associate it with depression now, lol

This may be blasphemous but I think I prefer the show? Like it's SO good! I read it for a school essay and I'm so excited to write now because this book is amazing, but it just didn't "hit" the way I wanted it to. I like the writing style but it wasn't as funny as I was told, and I think the comedy works better in the delivery of the show's actors and narrators than in prose. I do think the writers are amazing and there's a lot to explore here, I just wanted more Crowley/Aziraphale stuff than we got, like the other characters just don't work in book format and I got bored of them a lot faster than I expected. Regardless yes I did feel like an absolute stereotype reading this and i'm not ashamed.

I wanted to love this book, and I loved some things in it, but for the most part, it was rather disappointing.

The first half of the book is actually really good. I loved the premise, Crowley and Aziraphale and where the story was heading, but the the second half happened. Especially the chapter called 'Sunday'. Until this point, the story had a nice pace and everything was fine, even though it covered several years, and then there's 'Sunday' and pace got so slow and boring.

Then they were, well basically all other characters, who were rather one-dimensional and I couldn't care less about them. Every time I thought the story would finally move forward, there was yet another character introduced. This was especially annoying when they did other for the story, other than showing what the "main characters" did.

The End itself... well, if you know some of Pratchett's work, it will not be very surprising. It was good, but I had hoped for something... bigger? Better maybe?
