Fun concept, very readable, could've been about 50 pages shorter but enjoyed overall

I'm really torn... On the one hand I never want to read anything like this again. It made me feel physically ill 🥴🥴 On the other hand it is just so clever, utterly unique, and piercingly relevant.

Creative take on questioning religion, traditions and identity.

The only thing that mostly annoyed me was the writing style? It kept jumping from present to past for little anecdotes and to me that interfered with the flow of the book even though they did provide context. And most of the time, if the plot wasn’t really moving along, it got a bit boring and hard to get through.

I wouldn’t really call this book ‘extremely funny’ or ‘superb’ as the cover suggests but it did have its moments. The funniest part was when mudd started listing off all the ways her children were born

Not what I was hoping for. It's an unfunny, on the nose allegory for identity politics and tribalism

I thought I was getting a horror novel, and I was wrong, but I was pleased to have been wrong, because I haven't chuckled as much ever before as I did with this book. This novel has verve and I enjoyed it immensely.
