Can't believe I just gave Sophie Kinsella 3 stars, but both Lottie and Fliss just weren't strong or believable modern female characters. Sure, we all make mistakes. Mistakes can even be funny. Even ridiculous. I'm all for escape and ridiculousness...I just wish Fliss weren't as ridiculous as she was. Spoiler Alert!: she wanted to stop her sister from consummating her marriage. Her plot to do this was quite ridiculous but I chuckled here & there - it's a make believe story; I can suspend disbelief for the most part. The one thing she did that really annoyed me and I could not believe: she risked her sisters' life by having someone slip her peanut-based massage oil, so she'd have an allergic reaction, but she said she was doing it all to protect her? Huh? I'm wondering where the editor was here. I've had my characters do (and be) ridiculous things but I just couldn't believe this situation and the potentially harmful things Fliss did to 'protect' her sister. Still, I finished the book in 1.5 days. Why? Because Sophie K. stories are entertaining! So I'd say this book was a light, fun, but not believable read, and I'm still going to keep reading her work when I want a chuckle and escape.
I'm not sure why so many disliked this one, but I thought it was funny and pretty typical of Sophie Kinsella's other books. Of course the premise is slightly ridiculous, but that was part of the fun.
Perfect summer read. This is chicklit at its finest. Lots of twists and turns. Funny, light reading that keeps you interested right up to the end. I loved it!

A laugh out loud fun read. Great for the beach. Lottie marries Ben on the rebound, and her sister tries desperately to break up the marriage. Enjoyable.
Normally, I'm a big fan of everything Sophie Kinsella writes. Some may define her books as "chick lit," but her character development and word choice make her books stand out from the rest. However, "Wedding Night" fell flat for me. It was way too far-fetched and cheesy for me to ever take it seriously. It was predictable from the beginning, and the characters didn't feel fully developed to me.

A good easy funny read. I always lol when reading Sophia Kinsella books! Perfect for summer. It's light but comes packed with some real emotion around the issues of our expectations on love, marriage and divorce.
