It started brilliantly. Caught me half breath. Amazing, I thought. Of course, it isn’t possible to keep up that pace.
What bothers me is that she sticks around with the mean rude and arrogant guy who tells her “he is a real scientist, and she is not”. For all her talk of knowing self worth why does she stay with him, if they’re gonna fall in love later I’ll be very disappointed.
Really getting tired of this. He is being abusive and controlling and all in all horrible and, according to the author, finds it extremely amusing and even charming.

Fun read. Started and stopped a few times but every time I picked it back up I was like why, this was good. Lol

I enjoyed this! The combo of Victoria and Stoker reminds me of Amelia Peabody and Emerson, and Veronica herself is a bit like Lady Trent too! (Marie Brennan). The banter between the two was good, even though the ending dragged a bit.
As far as mysteries go, this one felt more like an on the run catch the criminal before they catch us story than a true mystery, and the romantic element fell a bit flat (I know it's just setting up in this book but eh). With that said I still was interested the entire time, and will be continuing the series.
