This is definitely a low 3 for me.

What I liked…
- Ezryn getting to be mated
- Caspian.

(So many spoilers ahead)
What I didn’t like…
- the writing - it felt worse in this book. Why? There would be things pointed out that we already knew. Example: when Kel says Ez is wearing a white flower behind his hurt ear for protection just as he and rose do… yeah we know that.
- along with the writing, the pacing. It was off for me. And this book could have been a lot shorter because most of the time a lot was happening for absolutely nothing happening.
The spicy scenes kept happening out of left field. So I skipped most of that. The only one that made sense really was the mated scene… but then ez stops his curse breaking for what and why who knows because he still nearly killed rose anyway and it would have happened if the guys hadn’t shown up… like
- all the sudden ez is just an evil dude… no.  Book 1 ez… no he isn’t.
- and no the f wrenly is not mated to our prince
- again so much happened but it also felt like absolutely nothing happened

The drama, the suspense, the mystery, the foreboding! Holy Smokes, that book was BIG!

I feel like the author has really started to feel herself in this book, she’s set the ground work and has really done in to this story with purpose and enjoyment.
The story progressed in a way that felt like an adventure but had all the elements you wanted to see from what she’s been setting up in the first two books. There was so much more action in this book. I appreciated the additions in character line up and felt like they all added to the story instead of feeling like they were just gap fillers. The spice is still spicing, although not always at times you would expect, but also *shrugs*, “huh, makes sense, I guess” IYKYK.

I will say the last 4-5 chapters PMO but also made me SQUEAL/SCREAM with anticipation for the next book. I’m so excited to read it and dive in to Summer!

Some of the character decisions feel awkward or frustrating - storyline progression instead of character commitment

I struggled at one point, I just got to annoyed with Rosie and Eazryn but I’m glad I stuck through it. I can’t wait for the next book! So many things are starting to come together and I finally found out what’s going on between C+K. I think W is the NG no way she’s not! I also think W is pulling an Ursula and is not really Ds mate no way. I had a feeling R was the queens kid though I called that one! I need book 4!!!

Sadly I will be DNF’ing this book at 25% + not continuing with the series. I liked the first two books, however I cannot and will not romanticise someone having sexual intercourse with another person whilst they are asleep. I don’t care if you are fated mates, or wether you previously consented to that or not, it feels icky to me and non-consensual in the moment. Sorry but NO! 👎🏻
