My compliance is not reluctant in writing this review. Pyle’s simply drawn alien comics cause you to pause, reflect and laugh a little at our modern lives and objects and occasions that are just everyday to us. Very fun and quick read — would make a great gift. I also felt like there were a lot of new comics in this book that I hadn’t seen on the Instagram, or perhaps I’m just not the best at remembering the details of all the comics :) Wondering if he will continue this series, and if the ending comics are indicative of future creations!

I laughed out loud multiple times. Five suns!

This is a book based on a comic strip series that you may have seen around the Internet. I first stumbled across it on Instagram and fell in love. It’s about colorful aliens who enthusiastically participate in baffling human activities. This book is a bind-up of comics from Instagram and brand new ones. A few of the comics fell flat for me, but mostly this book is an instant mood booster. I think it would make a great holiday or birthday gift. I highly recommend it if you enjoy comics and smiling.

I have a blog for that.

It’s cute. Not much else to say. Read this ion NYE right before the ball drop to meet my goal.

A delightful book that is hard to stop thinking about—and hard to stop thinking about our strange planet as well. A short set of cartoons all with humanoid aliens using strange language to talk about their seemingly strange customs and practices. Except everything is something humans do. Told in vignettes of 4-8 panels, Strange Planet goes from birth through childhood into adulthood. When people like someone else they give them dead flowers with only a few hours left—to be put in a death cylinder. They pay people to stab them (getting earrings), frequently engage in deception (hide and seek game with children and surprise birthday parties for adults), and engage in strange activities (e.g., “do you want to trap carbon dioxide in ephemeral spheres” instead of “do you want to blow bubbles). Worth leaving on your coffee table for a while.
