I'd seen some comic strips from this book floating around Instagram and that they were turned into a book, so I decided to check it out and see how funny it was. The answer: very.
This comic makes me laugh every time I read one. I devoured the book.

OMG these are such funny cartoons! I was new to Pyle's work, but now I'm following him on Instagram and loving every new cartoon. These aliens describe what they see and do and experience on Earth, in very scientific unemotional observational terms, and it is freaking hilarious as you realize what idioms we normally would use for the same phrases and experiences. I loved the helpful glossary in the back: sunglasses are "personal stardimmers" ; you'll want to use "star damage limiter" (sunscreen) to avoid "star damage" (sunburn). A "two-wheel foot pusher" is of course, a bicycle. Vacuuming is "Rollsucking the foot fabric," naturally. Going to the dentist: "I'm here to scrape your mouth stones. Have you been forcing string?" Bwahahaha! The same conversation I have with my dentist all the time! There are so many laugh-out-loud phrases for situations in these cartoons that I want to memorize and use myself.
I love these comics! I first discovered them online and I loved seeing some of my favorites in the book. Plus, there were tons of new ones to fall in love with. Will definitely read again.
