I read this as pre-reading for uni - the discussion of class and biblical themes were interesting, but overall this was a SLOG to get through, although I suspect that’s meant to reflect the environment.

"I'd prefer not to"---for some reason I adore Bartleby even though my students tend to hate this story. I love my friend Bryon Frantz's description---Melville's version of "Office Space"..
