It was such a chore reading through this. I constantly checked my progress with this short story. I'll admit the ending was sad, but I still don't understand this. Maybe that's the thing Melville was aiming for. I don't know.
Melville è sicuramente uno dei miei autori preferiti, e consiglio in particolare questa edizione per leggere Bartleby perchè ricchissima di note che aiutano a ragionare sul testo, sul lessico e le figure retoriche più utilizzate dall'autore.
