I am all for standing up to misogyny and taking down the patriarchy. Every single job I have had, people receive better from the men employees vs. the females. It has even gone so far as a customer asking for a manager when they didn't like my solution and I was the manager. Then pointing to my only male coworker and wanting to speak to him, when I was his supervisor and he was a brand new employee. So that should tell you how much I related to this book, I can only imagine working in a male-dominated field. Also, we love a woman in STEM! It was funny, had a little romance thrown in, and I loved all of the non-sexist characters. The narrator did a great job keeping me engaged and entertained. I definitely recommend this if you need a little female empowerment and some good laughs.

Not Bad for a Girl by Anastasia Ryan was such a great read. It's the first book of the year I gave 5 stars!
The story follows our FMC Indiana who's working with programming and is the only woman on her new work team however, the rest of the team mistakes her for a man as they're working from home.
The book is led by a cast of strong women which also just made the book so great.
I found the book very entertaining and it made me laugh so much so I could not put it down.
I'm very grateful that NetGalley and Dreamscape Media gave me the opportunity to listen to this as an audio-arc.

This was really sweet! It felt a little political and preachy about sexism throughout, but I did appreciate Indiana's struggles as a female in the workplace. The cast of characters was fun, and I do always love a happy ending! Overall, this was a fun, quick read that I would recommend to romance readers!

Unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me. I enjoyed the overall idea of shedding some light on gender inequality in the workplace, but I just was not a fan of how it was done here. Everything about “the manly Indiana” drove me absolutely crazy as it was all so unrealistic. I went in expecting a romcom, but the romance aspect was very lack luster and added very little if anything to the overall story.

Embarking on this emotional journey through the audio, I was moved by the profound exploration of a woman's strengths and complexities. Throughout the solo listening experience, the narrative skillfully guided me through a heartfelt spectrum of emotions unique to her story.
As the audio intricately unveiled the highs and lows in her relationships, it painted a vivid narrative that not only immersed but genuinely stirred my feelings, creating a powerful connection to her life. Grounded in her perspective, the story subtly introduced moments of heartwarming support, adding layers to the overall experience. Fearlessly navigating through complexities, the narrative offered a deeply moving exploration of diverse emotions and experiences specific to her character.
For those yearning for a story that not only maintains a more distant tone but also stirs the heart with its nuanced narrative, this audio provided a profoundly emotional and fulfilling listening experience from my personal standpoint.

This was a hilarious romcom by a new to me author that features Indiana "Ana," an talented coder who works for a company that doesn't appreciate her skills at all and when she speaks up in a meeting ends up getting transferred to a whole other division across the country.
Being able to work from home means she can remain anonymous and when her new boss accidentally assumes she's a man, Ana doesn't correct him. This leads to lots of mistaken identity hijinks, laugh out loud tall tales and Ana discovering its much easier to hack it in the tech world when people think you're a man.
Highly recommended if you enjoy stories about bad-ass women in STEM confronting male privilege and misogyny in the workplace or authors like Denise Williams and Ali Hazelwood. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!!
Steam level: kissing only
