this was a short story Ursula K Le. Guin wrote before she wrote the earthsea series , its a shows the start of the magic system and the dragons :)

Its such a short little story bit so well written 
gave me some hobbit cozy vibes at the beginning and then black beard pirate at the end 
such a nice little story.
