My 13 year old told me to read this short story. I'm so glad he did. We are looking forward to checking out many more short stories by this classic author.

I read it for school..
And i'm not wasting my chance to add a book on here lmao-

My first impression on the ending was that it wasn't satisfying and rather tragic..
But i def missed the whole point of the story.
If you are in a situation where you have to choose between your morals or loyalty..
What would be your choice?
I think the characters are really well written..
The writting style sounds like a black and white movie but i ain't gon complain :)
If it was a much taller story..a one were i have built a deeper conection with the characters then i think i would've probably cried near the ending..
It's an overall GOOD story ngl-
Just not the thing for me :D

I had to write a short essay on this short story for school. For once, I can say that I enjoyed the required reading! I loved the foreshadowing and the plot twist, and will have to check out more of O. Henry's stories.
