A decent conclusion to the page-turning trilogy. I really wish the author had spent more time explaining decisions in this book and had chosen a different ending. Some events and decisions seemed rushed.

after putting it off. THEM FEELS THO!

All the politics were confusing for me. Who is the government? Is there still a higher level above the Bureau?
ok, fine, they liberated New Chicago, but what about the other 3 experiment cities? Or was there only one other surviving city? I forget
. And I like to judge the morality for myself, and I don't know if all this violence was better than were we started 3 books ago.  I don't know. A lot to sort through here and maybe I need a map and each political parties ideology and goals. But yes, I get it, accepting our differences makes us richer, love and friendship heals us, love is sacrifice.
when Tobias was about to take the memory serum, I felt a wave of relief. I would probably go for that solution. Forget all this violence, forget your horrible father, forget Tris - sure that sounds dramatic, but maybe it's for the good. Anyway, I thought that would be a dystopian way to end this horror of a plot.  But I guess others would remember Tris and he'd learn about her anyway. Exhausting.

Finished this book on God knows when. I remember I was hurt and so mad I just want to scream and throw my Kindle against the wall. I hate the ending. It's not a happy ending and book with no happy ending? Not my favorite.

But overall..

Don't you just miss it when Tris and Four is Tris and Four stuck in Dauntless and they both all flirty and tough and romance are blooming between them? Yeah. Me too.

Wow, I felt briefly in the middle like the story was dragging a bit, but I've never seen or read the ending to the divergent series before this read, and it utterly wrecked me. I was not prepared. I cried. A lot.

It fit though, with everything Tris and Tobias and the rest go through, it does feel like the only conclusion was this - as painful as it was!

Apparently a lot of people have been disappointed by this book, but I disagree. Admittedly, I found the dual narration confusing at times, but the story still enthralled and overwhelmed me.

This is, I think, the perfect end to what has been a pretty great series : a very brave conclusion to a series about very brave people. Veronica Roth couldn't have concluded the Divergent novels more perfectly, and I applaud her for being such a brave writer (because almost every choice, every twist she added in this novel was brave!), and for constructing a series that was simply unputdownable. Well enjoyed!

ugh!! really love-hate!
