maybe the story gets better in the other books? but i genuinely can’t read anymore.
- spiking someone’s drink just to “test them” in order to make sure they’re “fit for the team” is not hot.
- taking advantage of and making out with said person against their will due to them being spiked is not hot.
- constantly making threats because you’re “psychotic and quirky” is not hot.
- the casual use of the f slur towards a gay character not once, but TWICE is not hot.

the fact people like this book is beyond me. the only reason this gets another star is because south carolina is mentioned lmao

“It's about second chances, Neil. Second, third, fourth, whatever, as long as you get at least one more than what anyone else wanted to give you.”

All the characters in this book need therapy on a daily basis.

The story is about Foxes. A team of broken and deranged teenagers who are united by Coach Waymack to play Exy.

My experience with this book was meh. First, it was so hard for me to get into the story because the writing was so bad. Second, I didn't the a thing about what Exy was and I still don't know much but hopefully that changes. Third, all the characters annoyed me with their psychopath personality.

I get it each and every character in this book has their own story to tell and there might be good reasons as to support their disturbing personalities but that doesn't make whatever they do to each other right. Especially the way the twins and Nicky behaved with Neil was so bad and Neil didn't deserve any of that just because he has reserved personality because of his past.

➸ Neil Josten: He is the only one I liked in this book and this boy deserves so much love and happiness in his life. Neil “I am fine” needs help, support and care from someone who won't ask too many questions about his past. My heart broke for him so many times in this book and I want him to have someone who could stand for him against the world and I think Andrew might be that person.

“Keys meant Neil had explicit permission to be here and do what he liked. They meant he belonged.”

➸ Andrew Minyard: He frustrated the hell out of me. He has a complex personality which is why it's hard to make final though about him. But I know he's going to redeem himself in the next books and I really want him and Neil to be together because deep down he cares so much about Neil and his safety.

“I'm not a math problem.”
“But I'll still solve you.”

➸ Kevin: He was fine. He's weird though.

➸ Nicky: I hate him for what he did to Neil. Does he not know that it was sexual harassment?

➸ Aaron: He talks?

The other teammates are also just annoying teenagers who need therapy and pills to keep them going.

I am hoping for this series to get better in next book and hopefully, there's some character development and redemption arcs.
