This book got me out of a book slump.  It was so fun and utterly consumable and for some reason made me feel motivated to clean my house, hahaha.  I identify with Eve Brown and specifically bought this one of the three books in this series because I felt the most drawn to her as a character.  I wasn't disappointed.  Eve is whimsical and dances to the beat of her own drum.  She hates failure and the thought of disappointing the people she cares about.  She was identifiable and sympathetic to me.  I really loved how kind and forthright she is.  She's a heart-on-her-sleeve kind of character.  It was refreshing.

There are only a couple smut scenes, but damn.  I've hardly read romance, but there is no shying away from multiple words for genitalia. I mean...duh.  XDDDD

One thing that bothered me a bit is the repetition of certain words, those being the word fizzed/fizzing and wolf/wolfish.  I'm just the kind of person who picks up on that and it's distracting and a little annoying.  Other words could have been used to make it not so repetitive.

I will say the end conflict that lasts a couple chapters felt a tad forced, but it's over with quickly.  I did get annoyed when ***SPOILER* her whole family shows up at her place of work and collectively show their asses and temporarily fuck everything up for her because they don't trust her to be a functioning adult, just because she's not comparative to her two more "responsible" (read social expectations of normative behavior and constructs) sisters.  She does end up telling them off, but I felt she should've been even harsher...>__> *END SPOILER***

TLDR: This was fun.  If you want some wholesome, funny, moderately smutty love in your life, you should read it with a bowl of your favorite snack and mainline that dopamine.

I am genuinely so sad the brown sisters trilogy is over. I almost gave this book 4.75 ⭐️ and then I realized I am so sad that it’s over and want to reread it immediately so I gave it 5 ⭐️…. And I think I’m gonna go back and adjust the others too. Now I need them in my collection *sigh* beautiful love story, loveable characters, diverse and differently abled characters and purple braids and orange lip gloss and ducks. I fucking love it

I listened to this on audio, and it was so much fun! I've loved all of the Brown sisters, but Eve Brown is my new favorite. She's blunt, kind, curious, and incredibly funny! Although this is an enemies-to-lovers romance, the connection between Eve and Jacob is something you feel from the start. Definitely worth reading!
