reading this felt like I was back home with my mom playing luther vandross on the speaker. so comfy, gentle, and unapologetically black. I loved every second of it.

Prince was a wonderful gentlemen MMC and Dani was a beautiful and extremely smart FMC. their love story will forever be etched in my heart ❣️💌

Love Radio was cute and real. The characters acted very realistically… from their meet-ugly to stomach issues on a date. The friendships and family relationships were nice to see! I liked the discussions about music history and the way music unites people.

The audiobook performers were perfect for these characters!!

Disability rep: Anxiety, ADHD (side character, MS (side character)
TW: Sexual assault

This book was wholesome and just besutiful to see these two people fall in love and deal with adult problems.
Sadly the writing was a bit jumpy and unclear at time with who was speaking and who was doing what with the pronouns usage instead of names.
The middle was a bit dragging but overall i enjoyed the book and its important representation and has deserved its place.

A fairytale of a story that made me laugh, cry and fall in love with the characters. Even though I'm closer in age to the parents of this story, I didn't find it was too YA, and still had complex emotions with nuance like chronic illness and other deep themes. Overall I loved the message and think this is a great novel for anyone looking to read a sweet romance novel with a ton of heart and full characters.

tw: sexual assault, toxic friendships, chronic illness

oh my goodness y'all, what an ELECTRIC ya romance. while it's technically a romance, Love Radio is SO much more than that. LaDelle depicts conversations about toxic friendships, reclaiming your voice after trauma, chronic illness, and support systems so beautifully and with such care. I wish I had a book like this in highschool, and if I were teaching highschool ELA there's a good chance this would be required reading.

This was an exceptional YA romance. It had a lot of heart and depth. There were multiple heavier topics explored but also included a good balance of funny lighthearted moments. The relationships between the love interests as well as their families were great. It showed different family dynamics and issues without taking away from loving and health relationships between the family members.

I started this book in print and finished it in audio. I think the narrators for the audiobook did an excellent job and really brought out the emotions of the characters.
