In 'The Inmate,' McFadden skillfully weaves a complex and exhilarating psychological thriller. The story revolves around Brooke Sullivan, a nurse practitioner at a men's maximum-security prison. As she navigates the rules and secrets within the prison walls, her intimate connection to a dangerous inmate adds tension and intrigue. Fans of psychological thrillers will find this book both entertaining and gripping.

Screaming. Sweating. Shooooooooook. I almost threw this book across the room multiple times LIKE WHAT? I consumed this like it was my last breath.

I don’t know how to feel about this book. I have loved every single book by Freida McFaden that I have read so far. This one was actually really good until the ending. It got weird. And the epilogue? Was that really necessary? The freaking kid was 10.

Also Brooke’s character got on my nerves. She was so back and forth on who she thought the murderer was. And then how did Shane get freed so easily? After being incarcerated for 10 years?! It made no sense. I felt bad for Tim through the whole book. Honestly if I was him I wouldn’t have forgiven Brooke.
