I have no idea why I didn't review this book. I've read this book countless times, and listened to the audio version too, and it's easy to see why so many people love this series.

For me, Forever My Girl was an unputdownable read, I loved the relationship between the characters, Josie, Katelyn, and Jenna, to me this is what a real friendship is. Then we have the boys....what can I say about them. They are hot as hell and I would not turn any of them down. They are fiercely protective of each other, and wont let anyone try to push themselves into the fold.

I will admit that I thought Liam was an ass for abandoning Jenna, but as the story unfolds we get to see what happened, and I did fell sorry for everyone involved having to go through this,

Forever My Girl is a very promising start to a new series I know I will love.

4.3
was so very cute! i really enjoyed the book and enjoyed even more how much liam was of a father to his son and how much he loved josie

also yo i felt for katelyn and her twins sm and yo is it weird to love a character thats dead and non-existent since the first page of the book bc that was mason for me; the author did a great job writing him and making readers feel for such a minor character bc he felt so much more than that; alsoo so glad and sweet of liam to look after katelyn and her twins like that

A pleasant read but nothing new here. The additional characters were good but I wasn’t a fan of the main male character and struggled to buy into this romance.

I read Forever My Girl as part of the Ultimate Reading Challenge to read a book that has been adapted into a movie. I have to wonder if this is one of those rare cases where the movie is better than the book because the book just didn’t do it for me.

The premise is great, but when you come down to it, Liam’s reasons for ghosting Josie for a decade are massively lame and seem to come out of nowhere. Cutting his best friend out of his life also doesn’t make sense. **SPOILER ALERT: It is impossible to address the rest of my issues without revealing a pivotal part of the plot, so stop reading now if want to be surprised.** While Liam regrets abandoning the love of his life, his apology comes with a “but” as he places some of the blame on Josie for not knowing he has a son. Um, excuse me? He’s the one who went out of his way to make sure she couldn’t get in touch with him.

Despite his selfishness, I like the man Liam grew up to be and I respected Josie. She welcomes him back into her life with too much ease to be believable, though. I also found it unrealistic for their son to unquestioningly accept their new family dynamics unquestioningly and with little to no difficulty.

Overall, while I was fond of the characters, the illogical plot aspects and choppy cliché storytelling made this a less than stellar read for me.

I listened to the audio book version, and Stephanie Rose and Nelson Hobbs do a fine job with the narration. Stephanie’s delivery as Josie tends to be somewhat flat. Funny enough, I actually liked her interpretation of Liam more. Both voice actors, however, deserve credit for increasing my enjoyment of the so-so story.

Wow, what to say about Forever My Girl. This book was absolutely amazing and really a breath of fresh air for me in the contemporary romance genre. I read this at a time where I was really getting sick of the over used plot lines that we find while reading contemporary romances and wanted something with a unique spin on it. I'd never heard of Heidi McLaughlin before this book but I can say anything she writes is definitely something I, as a contemporary romance lover, will be checking out. She took the same old 'going home and reconnecting with a lost love' plot line and made it her own.

From the beginning I could tell Liam was lost. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about him, I felt bad because you could tell he was in pain but there was so much I didn't know about him. Why did he leave? Why didn't things work out between him and Josie? Those are all questions that really had a part in me judging him as a character. As I got to know him more and I got to see him interact with other characters in the story I grew to love him. He had his flaws but I loved seeing him try. He tried so hard to figure things out and screwed up time and time again but he never gave up until he got what he wanted and righted the wrongs. Josie was annoying. I'm sorry but I'm not sorry. She was selfish, stupid, and even after Liam had proven himself she was still hesitant and selfish. I can't say much without spoiling things for you guys but Heidi throws in a unique twist that I haven't had in one of my past read contemporary romance novels before and I really enjoyed it. Josie was very selfish when it came to this situation though and she was at fault. I completely understand why she'd be hesitant to get back with Liam or try to love again but this had nothing to do with her and Liam. It drove me absolutely bonkers and made me want to slap her. In the end though I enjoyed seeing them get their HEA even though they had to climb over many barriers to do so. Contemporary romance lovers, definitely check this one out!

A book turning into a movie? HECK YES. SIGN ME THE HELL UP.

After I saw the trailer and found out it was a book I totally went onto my library's website and requested the audio version in like .25 seconds. Okay, I didn't really time myself but just imagine with me people.

Forever My Girl was freaking adorable. It kind of sucked me in pretty early on, which is something I didn't expect. Yeah, I had no expectations for this book. I don't really know why I didn't but I guess because it's going to be a movie you kind of just go "oh well" and see if you like it.

Now this book is about Josie and Liam's love. It's their second chance at romance and boy was it worth it.

Liam left town and his dream girl all because he wanted to follow his own dreams of becoming a rock star. Well now he's back in town and boy does he want her back. He knows he messed up so badly with Josie but he's willing to do whatever it takes to get back into her good graces and into her heart again.

Now Josie was an okay character. She didn't really wow me but I also didn't hate the girl either. She was hurt from the love of her life. They both just really needed to sit down and chat about what happened in the past and what's going on in their lives right now. I was rooting for them from the very beginning.

Another thing I liked about this book: the romance. UGH! Like I mentioned earlier, this book was freaking adorable. Maybe it was the whole second chance at romance but I just really loved it. They made me swoon throughout the book. I also really liked Heidi's writing and I can't wait to dive into another one of her books.

Besides the two main characters you could possibly like the supporting characters, such as: Katelyn. Now I probably liked her because that's my sisters name but she was just such a lovable character too. She's Josie's best friend and she was amazing in every way.

Now there's a lot more to this story and their lives than romance. There's death; However, I'm not going to dive into that because it was a sad moment that brought so many people together. Like my favorite people ever.

Again, I liked this book. I think I expected from it but I still ended up liking it. I could totally see myself rereading it over and over again. NOW I'M SUPER EXCITED FOR THE MOVIE!

Great read, read in one sitting (: Full review soon!
