I didn’t love the main characters and I wasn’t obsessed with their love story? I wanted to be and yet I couldn’t fully get there. Declan was my fave out of the two and I was more excited to read from his point of view. I felt like his character was fleshed out and actually came to terms with his daddy issues. I also loved the foreign language word tradition he had with his mom. My favorite part of the whole book was the foreign words he would tell Iris. Iris’ self pitty, trauma storyline didn’t feel real to me and made it hard to get in to her character as it felt like those points came up in every her pov chapter.

The tropes! Marriage of convenience (one of my faves), age gap, workplace romance, guy falls first, grumpy/sunshine and more. Declan and Iris are my fave couple from this series so far. The spice was nice, nothing too crazy. Interested to find out more about Cal’s story in the next book.
