Not my type of romance. It's similar to the words that's being used in the Twisted series by Ana Huang. Not going to read the rest of the series.

This series is supposed to have each book focus on one of the Kane brothers, and so this story was from the perspective of Declan Kane, the oldest. However, he doesn't seem like the main character. Iris is clearly the focus here, and we learn way more about her and see her develop as a character more than we see Declan. And honestly, I'm okay with that.

While Declan could have used some more growth (and his character seemed a bit static except for where Iris was involved), Iris was the girlboss that we all wanted to read about, and she deserved the spotlight. And tbh, Cal kinda stole the show at times haha. I would 100% read a book solely focused on Cal and Iris being besties.

This one didn't quite live up to the Fine Print, but I think it did a fantastic job setting up Cal for book 3.
