lighthearted slow-paced

Definitely one of those light weekend reads. It’s slow to build up and some bits I predicted but otherwise enjoyable to read. I preferred the characters and their development in the Jacaranda book as more quirky and warm somehow.

It was a wholesome but also contemplative read. I enjoyed the conversion of how some deal with loss. Overall, I liked the characters of Joy and Chloe, although I didn't care much for Hillary. I also found it so hard to get into the book after a break, which made it frustrating at times.

A fairly lightweight, fun read, with an underlying serious message about loneliness and the importance of family and friends
