A powerful story of a woman’s anger. Obsessed! The accent written was a bit difficult for me but it did add to the story and made me feel more connected with Dolores just trying to emulate her accent in my head. It is a difficult book to find a stopping place with since it reads like just one long stream of consciousness but still really enjoyed it!!

I chose this book a year ago because I wanted to start dipping my toes into Stephen King. I liked some other things by his alias, but I have never read a book written by his more common name. This one wasn't what I had expected. It wasn't necessarily a thriller or a horror story, but it gave off more of a memoir or a transcript vibe than anything. It was not unpleasant in style, but just not what I would have expected.
I truly liked how the story was told. How Dolores was able to break the fourth wall and ask for a drink during the investigation. I liked how it was only her witness report that the story was centered around. It almost was the equivalent of being on the phone with someone who was yapping. Dolores Claiborne, the OG yapper, confirmed. +1000 aura.
The ending was WILD.Even after all of the processing went through, she still never truly got her happy ending.
I'm giving it 3 stars because the format of the book had no quotation marks, and I struggled to read it. Thank God, for audiobooks. The narrator really saved this entire thing. Pulled a W out of their ass, they did.

Audio book is definitely the way to go on this, 5 star quality for the audio.
The random N-bombs really took me out of the story for a moment and overall the story was just good so 3 stars it is.
