5 The Farthest Edge Stars

I enjoyed this book in a totally different way than I enjoyed book 1.

I can’t tell you how freaking HOT this book is. Now normally a male sub I am cool with, it’s the female Domme’s I am not a fan of.

Evangeline, she doesn’t come across as what a Domme is if that makes sense. She could be anyone in any place and I think that is why I liked her so much. She gets off on being a Domme but not in a way that is power hungry. It is just the way she was built and she learned the right way to go about it.

BUT let me tell you Branch is not your regular everyday sub no sir, he is also very Alpha. He just likes to have his women be in charge...MOST of the time.

These two both know something in there pasts is holding them back. They might both know the score but feelings don’t care and when that happens; well you kind of have to roll with the punches.

I loved how they were both willing to take a chance whether it was the scariest thing either of them had to do.

Amazing. Kristen Ashley does it again; she can jump genres and still make a story worth reading and re-reading.

The narration awesome though the voice and accent of Amèlie I don’t know it just wasn’t what I was expecting. Still Lizbeth Gwynn kills it with making each character jump from the page.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Not for me - moving on.

Kristen Ashley has done it again. Holy hotness Batman! This book literally melted my panties. While I enjoyed The Deep End (book one) I absolutely loved this one. There are a lot of feels in this book that caught me off guard. I’ve ended up in tears with many of Ashley’s books; I just didn’t expect to end up in tears with this one. I thought, hey it’s erotica it’ll just get me all hot and bothered. Nope this book made me feel and feel hard.

If you’ve read The Deep End, you’ve heard about Evangeline. She got the raw end of the deal in a scene that went bad. Since then she’s been guarded, checked out of the life, and she while she wants to reconnect with friends—the life isn’t something she’s expecting to return to. Her friend and club owner Aryas, though, he knows just how to tempt her. Branch is enigmatic, extremely private, and an alpha to the core. He’s brooding, assertive, and unapologetic. She’s sweet, determined, and ready to fight for him. The chemistry between these two is so fucking hot. Both Branch and Evangeline are extremely well-written, well-developed, and complex.

This book has its drama but it’s so skillfully woven into the story that it’s not glaring or over-the-top. While I know that The Deep End has set her fan on opposite sides of the series, I think this is one that all fans can really enjoy. Since most of the info dump about the club and how it works took place in book one, The Farthest Edge is almost purely about the relationship between Branch and Evangeline. And besides the fact that Branch likes to submit, it is very much like her other stories.

If you haven’t given this series a try, I highly recommend it especially this book. If you’re an Ashley fan, definitely one-click it.

This book was definitely better than the first one! I loved the dynamic between the two main characters!!

Where to start with this one? Until the last five or six chapters, this book was three stars. I docked a star because, much like Kristen Ashley's "Own The Wind", once all outstanding issues were wrapped up, the story dragged along unnecessarily. About 50-100 pages could have been shaved off and the ending still would have been satisfactory.

Evangeline and Branch's story is similar to Amelie and Olivier's in the first of this series, "The Deep End". There's a lot of sex by design because it is sex that brings the two characters together. Once again though, I felt like I was reading another one of Kristen Ashley's previous books. This time, it was "Deacon". A broken, essentially dean man is in need of resurrecting.

A couple of pet peeves with the book. The tendency of the author to give everyone a nickname is as annoying to read in print as it is to experience in real life. Amelie has two nicknames as does Evangeline and all four are lace liberally throughout the book. I found that I kept stumbling through the story because of the name changes.

Another distraction were the seeds of conflict that the author planted that never really amounted to anything. Branch's special revenge project and Evangeline's semi-stalker had the opportunity to inject some real disturbance to the storyline but they turned out to be red herrings and I found that disappointing.

While I applaud Kristen Ashley for tackling a romantic hero (the alpha male sub) that is probably underrepresented in fiction, a little effort to construct original stories without borrowing from previous works would be welcome.

I enjoyed this second in the series much more than the first. My major complaint about the first book was the club scene. Thankfully, that was not a major part of this one. Not a lot of drama, but a good overall story.

Happy reading ; )

This book was so sexy. I was fanning myself still after reading. Even more than that though. It was a beautifully emotional story. I thought this was a great addition to the series and I really enjoyed it. I liked it even more than the first book, but I love everything by Kristen Ashley. I have learned this late but have caught up quickly. I don't want to go to far into the plot. I will just say that I absolutely loved these two broken characters and I felt for everything they have been through and I loved seeing how they progress in their relationship.

I absolutely cannot wait to read more from Kristen Ashley and more in this series.

3 stars

This is probably my least favorite book by this author. I can't connect with the story, characters, or role reversals. God knows that I'm trying. Even though this is technically a mediocre rating for this author, her mediocre scores are still better than most others.

I'm glad I didn't start with this series, or I would never have read any of her other books which are amazing.

My favorite of the series! It has the alpha submissive I was hoping for and the “We can’t stay together because it isn’t safe” trope.
She was attacked by a sub/boyfriend previously and was wary to renter the scene. Then they get set up by the club owner. They meet once and he immediately leaves but she’s hooked. She hunts him down.

Once they get together it’s amazing. Plenty of kinky sex but also an awesome relationship that grows.

Love a submissive in bed but dominant in life kinda guy.
