Much improved from the first book in the series though the language still has KA's characteristic silliness and I skimmed the sex scenes after a while because they became repetitive.

If you liked the Unfinished Hero series, this feels tonally similar to that series. Branch is a secretive off-the-grid former soldier with PTSD and some tragic backstory (he reminded me of a Deacon/Raid hybrid). But he's fully aware of his issues and he's pretty up front with the heroine about how fucked up he is and that there's pretty much no chance she'll be able to unfuck him.

Evangeline's spent the last year recovering from an assault but Branch busts in and gets her Domme juices flowing. She's a determined woman and she will win no matter what he thinks. I enjoyed this book a great deal.

The Farthest Edge was a sensual, provocative erotic romance focused on two wonderful individuals with heartbreaking pasts, doing the best they could and finally finding solace together so they could heal.

“Pull your head out of your ass, son. You are not alone. Not anymore. You have people who give a shit about you and you have a woman who does it for you. Don’t fight it. Rejoice.”

I’ll start off like I did with my review for book one, The Deep End, by cautioning readers that this is a straight up erotic series and so far it is woman dominating men, with all the (hot!!) graphic scenes one would expect in a BDSM story. But that being said, I am really loving the characters and the Honey Club itself that Kristen Ashley has created. The Dommes and Doms are each so unique and interesting, with their own distinct personalities and backgrounds, and the subs are every bit as intriguing as well. And while there were plenty of explicit and extremely sexy play scenes here, I thought Branch and Evangeline’s burgeoning relationship was really what took center stage and made this a well-rounded novel. Huge KA fan but I didn't like this book. I didn't like the first one in the series but I still wanted to check this one out because when it comes to KA I'll read every book she has.

This was so painful for me to read and to actually finish it. Usually when KA releases a book I get nothing else done cause I'm locked into the world she has written.

I didn't have a problem with the writing or the BDSM scenes but this just felt forced. It was so boring that I found myself skimming through all the proclamations all the characters felt they needed to do. They just repeated themselves which was annoying. I didn't feel connections to any of the characters that is usually feel when I'm reading a KA book.

You know you're having a bad week when you aren’t feeling Kristen Ashley’s convoluted sentences.

The Farthest Edge will have you sweating and squirming and wishing for your spouse or significant other. Lots of sexy times. LOTS. But also is has a whole lotta sweet. Friends that don't give up on each other and lovers that stand by and help life you up, and hold you up, when you need it the most. I really enjoy this world.

I received an ARC for an honest review. Full review to come.

DNF @chapter 3. I was unable to read this writing beyond a few short chapters. There was male POV description of decor, housing in a very female way, women who spoke like the typical KA alpha male and over explanation of everything in extended brackets and dialogue that made my stomach churn with literacy anxiety. My buddy in this game says it all so well here Hollis.

We won’t be continuing with the series.

Thanks to having a B&N nearby that actually displays their books a little early and not 2 weeks after release, I scored a paperback a few days early.
I really, really enjoyed this book. Not quite as out there as the Deep End, and a little more story driven. I enjoyed both characters. Branch seemed like he'd fit well into the Unfinished Heroes gang.
I don't want to say much and spoil it for others. But I think people who were not keen on continuing this series after reading the Deep End may want to reconsider. I feel like this would have been an easier entry into this series rather than The Deep End was.
Now I'm very curious who is going to finish out the series... The ones I thought were going to I don't think will anymore...

Another captivating story by Ms. Ashley. I really loved watching Branch and Evangeline heal each other. I did love Branch's nickname for Evangeline, because I kept hearing Ray from The Princess and the Frog every time I read 'Evangeline'.
