This book was so amazing. A great collection from such a diverse array of authors. It really enlightened me on disabilities other than my own, encouraged me to check my privilege as a disabled person, and inspired me to write more about disabilities. I need a second edition asap!

I didn’t even know what didn’t know. I appreciated this interesting collection of personal essays giving voice to a full range of disabled people. Very interesting and eye-opening. For example, for me, the essays about the deaf convict in prison and the role of flamboyant dressing as an activist statement of wanting to be seen were very impactful.

Good bookclub discussion.

A compulsively readable collection of essays and accounts of life with disability.

I usually struggle with collections because it’s often the case that a few stories are great, a lot are meh and some are even bad. This is not the case with disability visibility, EVERY SINGLE ONE is amazing, relevant and nuanced, both in writting and subject.

100% recommend, read it…NOW
