Recommend audiobook! Very engaging. I find it strange I haven’t read more Sasquatch or Bigfoot novels. Seems like such an obvious plot point!

4 stars because I blew through it in a weekend, kept me engaged with the action without having to think about anything too hard, and that's what I needed from it.

could have used plenty more nuance in how the "devolution" progressed, as well as with the naivety of Greenloop members. like with WWZ, cool approach to the subject but he's not using the format to the full potential and all the voices sound the same. less of a problem here since it mostly focused on the one woman, although I'm also rolling my eyes at telling scene by scene action & exact dialogue through journal entries, always stretches plausibility for me.

wouldn't be a true popcorn book without me being unnecessarily critical though -- maybe I have to accept that as part of the fun.

I almost didn't get through the first half hour of listening to it, since I found the narrator's tone annoying. But, it ended up getting much better

Maybe some instinct told them it was time to swap evolution for devolution, reach back to who they were to reclaim what was theirs.

I loved this book. I didn't want it to end, I wanted to savor it and stretch it out as long as I could. Yet, I couldn't stop reading or put it down. The way this was crafted is brilliant. It reads like a 'found footage' documentary. It felt so real that it brought out a visceral fear in me.

The journal entries were chilling and oh so spooky. The slow and creeping sense of dread and foreboding was palpable through the pages of this story. It felt like I was watching rather than reading...so well done. I liked the mention of real-life individuals and events as well. Not only did I enjoy this, but I also learned a few things as well. Learning as I read is always going to be a plus for me.

The build-up to the inevitable carnage was stellar and did not disappoint. The imagery, the gore, the violence, and suspense of course fear were all well depicted. I loved the ending. It suited the theme of the book and couldn't have been better.
Truly enjoyed this one from cover to cover.

A Reddit post highly recommended this as an audiobook and I'm glad I listened. Judy Greer does an excellent job narrating as Kate, setting the right tone in all the right places and taking you along as a
cast of entitled, hateable, tech-dependent characters comes to face the reality of and rally to fight back against a pack of Sasquatch.

I really enjoyed the interviews and excerpts of lore and primate studies that complimented Kate's diary entries as well.

The descriptions of the
attacks, disemboweling, and head crushes - proper icky! Lol!
